Snowball cookies are one of the Christmas classics that many consider a must-have during the holidays. Buttery and nutty with an airy texture that melts in your mouth like a whipped shortbread, Snowball cookies always remind me of a little cotton candy.
These Italian cookies are always popular all winter long. Serve with coffee, tea, hot chocolate or homemade eggnog for the perfect combination!

What are Snowball Cookies?
Snowball biscuits are small, round buttery cookies with chopped nuts. Roll it in powdered sugar to give it a iced white.

Two things that distinguish this cookie recipe from the others are the absence of eggs and the use of powdered instead of granulated sugar in the dough. The result is a light, crumbly bun that melts almost the second you touch your tongue.

Snowball biscuits are a little messy to eat, but in the best way they can! Sprinkling a pinch of powdered sugar on everyone adds even more sweetness to the season!
Differences
Nuts: I prefer walnuts but pecans or other chopped nuts work well as well.
Flavor: To get an Italian flavor, consider the flavor of the dough by adding a teaspoon of anise extract.
Fun add-ons: Try adding mini chocolate chips, grated coconut, or even a crushed mint candy cane for a fun festive touch.
