Ingredients
Method
- Stir yeast into warm water and let it rest until foamy.
- Warm milk and buttermilk gently; stir in 2 tablespoons softened butter until melted.
- In a mixer bowl, combine milk mixture, yeast, sugar, salt, and 1 cup flour. Beat with a dough hook until smooth, then beat in egg.
- Add remaining flour gradually until dough pulls cleanly away from the hook. Shape into a ball in a greased bowl. Cover and rise 1 hour.
- Roll dough on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 12 rectangles, fold ends under, and arrange on a lined baking sheet. Rise 20 minutes.
- Bake at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned. Brush warm rolls with butter if desired.
- Whip butter, cinnamon, honey, and confectioners’ sugar until smooth. Serve with warm rolls.
Best Served Warm
Serve the rolls warm so the honey cinnamon butter melts into every soft layer. Reheat leftovers briefly before serving.
