HOW TO MAKE PERFECT FRIED SHRIMP?
Southern Fried Shrimp is so easy at home to produce. Crafted with Old Bay seasoned flour and buttermilk for a crispy and tasty coating. For game day parties and festivities, its the perfect dinner.
INGREDIENTS:
One kg of large peeled raw shrimp.
2 large eggs, (beaten).
1C. whole milk.
3/4C, Of all-purpose flour.
2/3 C. Of cornmeal.
2 tbsp. Of chili hot sauce.
1+1/2 tsp. Of salt.
1 tsp. Of black pepper.
1/2 tsp. Of cayenne pepper.
Vegetable oil.
INSTRUCTIONS:
PHASE 1:
1_I poured oil into a wide deep skillet to a depth of 2 inches, and heat to 370 degrees Fahrenheit over medium-high fire.
2_When the oil heats, in a large bowl, I whisked together the eggs, hot sauce, and whole milk, then I added the shrimp to the mixture and shake to cover.
3_In another shallow dish, I whisked together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, cinnamon, black and cayenne peppers.
PHASE 2:
1_I removed 5 to 8 shrimp from the mixture of the shell, shake off the excess, dredge in the mixture of flour.
2_I placed the dredged shrimp in hot oil and fried for about 3 minutes until the coating is golden and crisp.
3_I removed to a baking sheet lined with paper towels with a slotted spoon and repeated with the remaining shrimp.
SHRIMP IS ALWAYS A PURE TREAT AT MY HOUSE, AND SPECIALLY IN THIS RECIPE, EVEN THE CHILDREN WERE OBSESSED WITH IT. I HOPE YOU’LL ENJOY IT TOO!!
