Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2/3 cup cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 4 bananas sliced
  • 1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 8-ounce container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries drained
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press firmly and evenly into the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch dish.
  • Beat the softened cream cheese and confectioners sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Spread gently over the graham cracker crust.
  • Arrange the drained crushed pineapple over the cream cheese layer. Add an even layer of sliced bananas, followed by the sliced strawberries.
  • Spread the thawed whipped topping over the fruit. Garnish with maraschino cherries and chopped walnuts.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, until well chilled and set. Slice into squares and serve cold.

How to Keep the Layers Neat

Drain the pineapple and cherries very well, and chill the dessert for at least two hours before slicing. A cold cake holds its layers more cleanly.
