Beef Empanada Recipe

  • 6 wheat tortillas
  • 450 gr ground beef
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 egg
  • 2-3 tablespoons fried tomato
  • 1 plain yogurt
  • 100 ml milk
  • oil to taste
  • butter to taste
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Preparation :

  • Finely chop an onion, red and green bell pepper and a clove of garlic.
  • Add the oil to the frying pan
  • Add the onion and garlic
  • Fry the onion over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until it becomes transparent.
  • Add the peppers and a pinch of salt.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes
  • Add two or three spoonfuls of fried tomato and fry for one minute.
  • Add minced meat
  • Cook until the meat is done (you will know it is done when you see that it has changed color).
  • Add a little black pepper and if necessary correct the salt.
  • In a bowl mix the milk, an egg and a natural yogurt without flavor and without sugar.
  • Dip the tortillas in the mixture and line the mold.
  • Put another tortilla in the center
  • Put the filling inside
  • Put the remaining tortilla on top and close the mold
  • Pour the remaining mixture on top
  • Put a few pieces of butter on top
  • Put in the oven and bake at 200 degrees with heat only from below for 30 minutes or until it is the way you like it.
  • Once it is golden brown, take it out of the oven and it is ready to eat.
