One-Pot Homemade Spaghetti
Easy one-pot spaghetti with seasoned ground beef, rich tomato sauce, and tender pasta cooked together in a pressure cooker.
Servings 6
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 3 cups water
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes optional
- 16 ounces spaghetti pasta
Instructions
- Set a pressure cooker to sauté. Add olive oil and onion; cook until softened.
- Add ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until beef is browned.
- Add water and scrape the bottom of the pot well to prevent sticking.
- Break spaghetti in half and arrange it in a crisscross layer. Pour spaghetti sauce and diced tomatoes over the pasta.
- Pour remaining water around the sides and press pasta down gently so it is mostly covered.
- Lock the lid, set valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. Let pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then quick-release remaining pressure.
- Toss pasta, sauce, and meat together. Serve with a salad and garlic bread if desired.
Pressure Cooker Tip
Scrape the bottom of the pot after browning the meat to prevent a burn warning. Arrange the pasta in a crisscross pattern so it cooks evenly.
